Georgia has real money on the table almost no small builder claims: WIOA On-the-Job Training reimburses a meaningful share of a new hire's wages for the first six months (exact percentage varies by local workforce development area). Apprentice Georgia (Technical College System of Georgia) pays per completed apprentice, up to a capped number per employer.

The catch: sign the OJT contract after the hire has already started and the reimbursement is forfeited entirely. GIB manages the filing and the workforce-board relationship so that doesn't happen.

Georgia's SB 447 (effective July 1, 2026) put real deadlines and remedies on local permitting: private-provider inspection reports deemed approved if a jurisdiction doesn't respond within two business days; hard clocks on land-disturbance permit reviews; a missed deadline forces a fee refund and a fast-track path to court. A statute is worth nothing to a builder who can't afford to sue the county he needs a permit from next year — GIB makes the call so the complaint comes from the association, not the member.
